OKEECHOBEE- On the red carpet for the 2022 NFL Draft, former Okeechobee Brahman Evan Neal was asked about his cowboy boots and if he’d wear them if he gets drafted to somewhere like New York.
“I’m gonna rep whatever I feel like repping in New York,” Neal replied with a smile.
A few hours later, the New York Giants selected Neal seventh overall in the NFL Draft.
Family, friends, and fans packed the Okeechobee Agri-civic Center in Neal’s home county to watch the draft. The venue erupted in cheers after the announcement as Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” played over loud speakers.
