Okeechobee teacher wins Outstanding Teacher Leader Award at gala

Posted

ORLANDO- Okeechobee’s Michelle Lapointe was the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Leader Award at the Florida Teacher of the Year Gala on July 14.

Lapointe teaches fourth grade at South Elementary.

“Michelle embodies all of the qualities of a true educator,” said South Elementary principal Lonnie Steiert eariler this year. “She is often sought out by educators and administrators within our school and across our district for assistance in making informed decisions. When you’re in the room with Michelle and you spend time with her, she reminds you why you chose education as your profession. And you walk away wishing you could be more like her.”
