Okeechobeee Agri-Civic Center Events

OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee Agri-Civic Center, located at 4601 State Road 710 East, will hold the following events in October:

Saturday, Oct. 2, 9 a.m.: Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Bicycle Rodeo is sure to be a great time with the Okeechobee City Police Department, Okeechobee County Fire Department, plenty of community partners, and some eager kids competing on two wheels. Contact Deputy Jack Nash at 863-763-3117 for more information.

Tuesday, Oct. 5, 6 to 9 p.m.: Recreational Riding — Recreational riding nights are an opportunity for local residents to ride their horse in the covered arena. A charge of $10 per rider, and you MUST have a current Coggins certificate.

Thursday, Oct. 7, 5 p.m.: Fast & Furious Barrel Racing Buckle Series exhibition runs start at 5 p.m., open runs start at 7 p.m, Youth follows the Open. There is no charge for the public to attend, and a concession stand will be open.

Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 9 & 10: Florida High School Rodeo — High School competitors from all over Florida compete in rodeo events in hopes of qualifying for the Florida High School Rodeo State Finals. Come out and support the cowboys and cowgirls of Okeechobee and watch the action. There is no charge for the public to attend, and a concession stand will be open.

Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 16 & 17: NBHA District 03 & 05 Barrel Race — Friday: Exhibition starts at 5 p.m. Barrel race at 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday: Exhibition starts at 10 a.m., Barrel race at 1 p.m.
• Sunday: Exhibition starts at 9 a.m., Barrel race at 11:30 a.m.
A concession stand will be open, and there is no charge for the public to attend

Friday, Oct. 22, 9 to 11 a.m.: Treasure Coast Food Bank Drive Thru Mobile Pantry. Entrance is at 4601 S.R. 710 gate only

Saturday, Oct. 23, 8 a.m.: Livestock Ethics Class — Livestock Ethics training is mandatory for any youth exhibitor showing a livestock project at the Florida State Fair as well as many county fairs, including the Okeechobee Youth Livestock Show, held during March in conjunction with the Okeechobee County Fair. The Youth Livestock Show Ethics and Animal Care Workshop is designed to certify students to meet the mandatory certification requirements that will be in effect for the 2020 Florida State Fair. Certification is valid for a three year period.

Sunday, Oct. 24: Kaza Productions Mexican Rodeo — Mexican music and food.
