OKEECHOBEE- The 2023 Best of the Lake Awards were held on June 9 at the Okeechobee KOA.
Businesses from around Lake Okeechobee who earned the most votes from the community were recognized. Over 50,000 votes were cast in more than 90 categories.
Leah Suarez was recognized as the Person of the Year. Frank “Sonny” Williamson earned the Red Larson Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Agriculture Community. Vicki Anderson was named the Community Business Partner of the Year.
A booklet with all the finalists and winners will be in the June 14 edition of the Lake Okeechobee News.
