OKEECHOBEE -- The Okeechobee Post Office no longer looks like a crime scene. After nearly a year of caution tape and safety cones blocking most of the doors, the post office has been repaired, and all doors are functional.

Lake Okeechobee News reached out to the local postmaster in mid-March and was directed to the USPS Strategic Communications Specialist Alabama-Mississippi & Florida 3 (South Florida) Districts Debra Fetterly. Fetterly quickly checked into the situation and said Okeechobee should expect to see some resolution to the problem in the next few weeks.

Did the squeaky wheel bring home the grease, or was it a coincidence? We may never know.
