With an hour of voting left to go, more than 70% of Okeechobee County's registered voters have cast their ballots.

Record voter turnout expected

Record turnout is expected nationwide for the Nov. 3 election.  The polls close at 7 p.m. but all of those in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

As of 6 p.m.,  70.5% of the registered voters in Okeechobee County had cast their ballots.

Around the lake, voter turnout was high.

In Hendry County,  67.16% of all registered voters had voted by 6 p.m. Nov. 3.

In Martin County, 83% of registered voters had voted by 6 p.m.

In Glades County, 72.5% of registered voters had voted by 6 p.m.
