The Challenge of Wait

Posted

Recently I went down to the church and had a conversation with God. After I finished, I remember that a lot of times we talk to God, but, we don’t take time to wait for an answer. I sat there on the pew, I waited, and waited, and waited. After what seemed like an eternity, no answer…

What do you do when you’re waiting to hear from God and it seems like He is not answering? I’m glad you asked. You….wait.

I know. I know. Waiting seems like it takes a long time. When we are in a microwave state of mind, waiting seems like an impossible task. Wait times in our lives seem to get longer and longer.

Everyday our patience gets tested i.e. waiting while on hold, waiting at the traffic light, waiting in line at the drive-thru, and last but not least, waiting for water to come to a boil.(lol)

We seems to take on “weight” while we are waiting.(Pressure builds up, anxiety kicks in, tempers get short). Impatience seems to rule the day.

I’m reminded of a scripture that says: They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they should mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

So, while we are in “God’s Waiting Room,” we should be renewed in our strength, we should be mounted up in all we do, we should run this race without weariness and we should walk without any worry of fainting.

So as we wait to hear from God, go ahead and claim renewal. mount up, and run. If you can’t run, walk.

Waiting should not make you impatient, it shouldn’t drive you insane, it should not cause you frustration,

Remember there’s joy in waiting. There’s expectancy in waiting, But most of all, there’s strength in waiting.

Wait I say on the Lord

By the way, I’m still waiting…

reflections, patience
