OKEECHOBEE — Recently, Rock Solid Christian Academy student Layla Rucks sent a letter to the Okeechobee Police Department thanking them for all their hard work and expressing concern for their safety. In response, Lt. Justin Bernst took time out of his busy day to send her a letter in reply, and her mother said, “It made her day.” He even sent her her very own Okeechobee Police patch.
