OKEECHOBEE — A 25-year-old Okeechobee woman was killed Saturday night at approximately 11 p.m., after the vehicle she was traveling in was struck head on by another car. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, two sedans were traveling on State Road 710 east of Southeast 59th Avenue. One of the cars, driven by a 54-year-old man from Holiday, was traveling west. A second sedan driven by a 27-year-old Okeechobee female was traveling east. The driver of the first car attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him and crossed into the path of the second vehicle, and the two vehicles collided.

The woman who was killed was a passenger in the second vehicle. The driver of that vehicle and two passengers, a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both from Rushville, Indiana suffered serious injuries. The driver of the first car was also listed in serious condition.
