Sergeants retire as lieutenants

Posted

OKEECHOBEE -- Last week, Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office shared a luncheon in honor of two exceptional employees, Sgt. Fred Bradley and Sgt. Philicia Allen.

As his last official "boss" duty for the retirees, Sheriff Stephen surprised the two sergeants by officially promoting them to the rank of lieutenant.

Each received a personal gift for their years of service. For Lt. Allen, a Home Depot gift card for the renovations  she has planned to keep her busy, and Lt. Bradley a new cooker, as all know he is as famous for his cooking as he is the dedication shown over all these years. The lieutenants also received a brand new Glock 9mm, engraved with the department's credentials on it.

Friends and co-workers told stories, laughs, and a few tears (the good kind), and they ended with amazing personalized cakes by Melissa Ellis.

"We hope one day you truly comprehend the impact you have made on us as colleagues, mentors, and most of all, as our friends," said a spokesperson for the OCSO.
