Single-vehicle accident kills one

OKEECHOBEE --  A 32-year-old Okeechobee woman was killed last night around midnight after her  SUV hit a tree.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling east on Northwest 36th Street just east of Northwest 36th Avenue on Oct. 1 when her vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason. The SUV hit a tree, spun around and hit a second tree.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
