OKEECHOBEE -- A 55-year-old Okeechobee woman was killed when the car she was a passenger in crashed. On Friday, Sept. 10, just after 7 p.m., a sedan driven by a 23-year-old Okeechobee man was headed northbound on Southwest 67th Drive when for unknown reasons, the car left the roadway and hit a culvert and then a fence.
The woman was transported to Raulerson Hospital but succombed to her injuries soon after her arrvial. The driver suffered minor injuries. According to the report, neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seatbelts when the accident occured.
