Special Olympics athletes bring home big wins

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Special Olympic athletes Omar Martinez and Krystal Sims participated in and represented Okeechobee County in the State Games for bowling on September 16th in Orlando. Omar walked away as a State Champion in his division, and Krystal received second place in her division. These athletes had the odds stacked against them because Okeechobee has no bowling alley. But with the help of their coaches and family they were able to get a little practice in before their trip. They worked hard and finished the season with a very successful trip to the State Games.
