Teen is charged with grand theft auto

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — After reportedly taking his grandparents’ jeep without permission, a teen was charged with grand theft. Kyler Pasley, 16, Southwest 18th Terrace, was arrested Feb. 19 by OCSO at approximately 1:30 a.m.

According to the arrest report, Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Deputy Francisco Hernandez was dispatched in response to the complaint. When he arrived, Pasley’s grandparents told him the boy was supposed to be mowing their lawn. They gave him the keys to the jeep so he could move it out of the way, but then realized he and the vehicle were gone. He did not have permission to drive the vehicle and did not have a license. The vehicle was later found in the 800 block of Northeast Eighth Avenue. Pasley was arrested but released into his grandparents’ custody.
