OKEECHOBEE -- While assigned to Uniformed Patrol, Detective Cauley observed a suicidal woman on a local bridge preparing to jump to her death. Det. Cauley called the information in, jumped from his car, and ran to the woman.

Seeing Det. Cauley, the woman jumped over the railing and attempted to jump from the bridge as he bear-hugged her until backup could arrive and assisted in securing her.

There is no doubt that Det. Cauley's actions saved the woman's life and stopped her imminent death. Det. Cauley has received the OCSO Performance Award and Life Saving Award for his actions this day.
