Thousands still without power in South Florida

Hurricane Ian left much of South Florida without power on Wednesday. On Thursday, crews were busy working to restore power to more than 2.6 million customers.

As of 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, Florida Power & Light reported 8,210 Okeechobee customers without power. Glade Electric reported 1,095 customers in Okeechobee without power.

In Glades County, Glades Electric reported 2,242 outages. FPL reported 2,747 outages.

In Hendry County, Glades Electric had 2,510 outages. FPL reported 6,540 outages.

In Highlands County, Glades Electric had 5,601 outages. FPL reported 370 outages.

In Collier County, FPL reported 171,780 outages.

In Palm Beach County, FPL reported 6,700 outages.

In Martin County FPL reported 4,550 outages.
