OKEECHOBEE — Two Okeechobee women were killed Thursday morning in a head-on collision on Martin County Highway at approximately 11 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occured just west of the Fox Brown Road intersection. The 27-year-old woman driving a Toyota Matrix swerved into the eastbound lane and hit a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a 68-year-old woman.
The Matrix driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the pickup truck was flown to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
