FORT MYERS — United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee’s Volunteer Center will host its Second Annual Family Service Learning Fair on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Bell Tower Shops located at 13499 S. Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers. This event will highlight 24 diverse non-profit agencies who will offer a variety of hands-on projects for families to participate. Our goal is to introduce families to volunteer opportunities available to them, as well as inspire our youth to become community-minded leaders and citizens.

Additionally, Oct. 24 is National Make a Difference Day, so come out and learn how you can make a difference in our community!

The 24 non-profit agencies include: Bikers Against Child Abuse, Calusa Nature Center, Cancer Alliance of Naples, Catholic Charities, Children’s Network, Family Initiative, F.I.S.H. of Sanibel, Gigi’s Playhouse, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast, Guardian Ad Litem, Gulf Coast Humane Society, Hope Healthcare, LARC Inc., Lee County Sheriff, Lee Health Military Support Group, Life Line Family, Lutheran Services, McGregor Clinic, NAMI Lee County, One More Child, Project Dentist Care, The Salvation Army, YMCA, and United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee.

This event is free for the public, however, we are asking attendees to bring in a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry. We are also asking everyone who attends to wear a mask for the safety of yourself and others. The United Way Volunteer Center will be enforcing social distancing and other safety protocols including the availability of hand sanitizer. For more information, email MaryM@UnitedWayLee.org.

The United Way Volunteer Center connects individuals and companies to volunteer opportunities throughout our community. You can reach the United Way Volunteer Center by calling 239-433-7567, or by visiting the United Way website at www.UnitedWayLee.org.
