Health officials encourage everyone to be vaccinated

TALLAHASSEE  -- Vaccines continue to be effective in reducing the risk of severe outcomes due to COVID-19, and are widely available statewide. The Florida Department of Emergency Management and the Florida Dept of Health will work with providers statewide to support, and ensure adequate vaccine supply to support boosters for immunocompromised individuals. Florida Department of Health guidance remains – vaccines are the most effective way to protect yourself from COVID-19.

Floridians can find a COVID-19 vaccine near them at FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov/Vaccine-Locator. If you are unable to locate a vaccine, contact your local county health department.

As of August 20, 2021, 66% of eligible Floridians are vaccinated and we have reached a milestone of nearly 12.7 million Floridians vaccinated.

From June 25 to August 19, among individuals:

    • 12-19 years old, vaccination rates have increased by 18%
    • 20-29 years old, vaccination rates have increased by 10%
    • 30-39 years old, vaccination rates have increased by 12%
    • 40-49 years old, vaccination rates have increased by 11%
    • 50-59 years old, vaccination rates have increased by 9%
    • 60-64 years old, vaccination rates have increased by 7%
    • 65+ years old, vaccination rates have increased by 3%
