26-year-old Immokalee woman killed in SR 29 crash

IMMOKALEE – A 26-year-old Immokalee woman was killed in a two vehicle accident on State Road 29 near the intersection of Oil Well Road on May 2 at 2:49 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, a sedan driven by an Immokalee woman was traveling north on State Road 29, attempting to pass a sports utility vehicle. The SUV was traveling north on State Road 29, leading up to Oil Well Road. As the SUV attempted to turn left at the intersection, the right front of the sedan collided with the left side of the SUV, the report continues.

Post collision, the sedan overturned several times and the driver was ejected onto the grass shoulder. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The crash remains under investigation.

The SUV driver, a 53-year-old Naples woman, was not injured, according to the FHP report. Passengers in the SUV included a 33-year-old Naples woman, a 20-year-old Naples woman, a 19-year-old Naples woman and a 12-year-old Naples boy. None of the passengers were injured.
