OKEECHOBEE — Jack Albritton, 34, was arrested Nov. 20 by Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office and charged with violation of probation on his dealing in stolen property case which was adjudicated guilty in 2013.

In April of this year, Albritton was charged with aggravated battery on an officer or firefighter, escape and resisting arrest with violence after deputies went to his residence to serve a warrant, and he reportedly struck one deputy in the head while trying to flee. He then ran out the door and through the back yard and into a ditch before deputies were able to capture him.

This arrest led to an arrest on Sept. 3 with charges of knowingly giving a false report to law enforcement. Albritton reportedly accused one of the deputies of holding his head under the water in the ditch, and accused the other of punching him in the ribs. He claimed one of the men sexually assaulted him as they walked back to the patrol car and threatened his family. After an investigation which included speaking to medical personnel, his claims were determined to be unfounded.

The report notes that records from Raulerson Hospital where Albritton was treated after the arrest include that he appeared to be under the influence of a mind altering drug and did not make any statements regarding a sexual assault. He did however cover himself in his own feces, smear it on the cell door and walls and then eat it. He also reportedly rubbed the feces in a laceration on his face and stated his family would sue the hospital if he died from an infection.

On Nov. 3, Albritton was arrested again and charged with escape. This time, he was reportedly attempting to escape from inside the county jail by digging holes in the walls.

On Nov. 9, he was charged with falsely accusing a government agent with sexual battery, but no details are available on those charges yet.

At this time, the original dealing in stolen property case has been reopened, and he is being held without bond.
