LABELLE -- American Legion Post 130, 699 W Hickpochee Ave, LaBelle, will host a blood drive on April 14, from noon to 6 p.m.
Blood donations are needed year round to maintain a safe blood supply for area hospitals. After the blood is collected and tested, it is processed into blood components such as red cells and plasma. Because each patient is only given the blood components he or she needs, one blood donation can help as many as three patients.
The Legion hosts blood drives every other month.
