Audrey Whidden

Audrey Whidden born December 13, 1934, passed away April 3, 2023. She was 88 years old. She was the only daughter of Herbert Cleo and Patricia (Barfield) Taylor. One of the pioneer families of Citrus Center, the Taylors moved to Moore Haven where they worked, and the children attended school. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Herbert O’Neil Taylor and Glenn Norman Taylor, her husband Calvin Whidden, his sons; James David Whidden and John Allen Whidden, son-in-law; Darrell Henderson and grandson Devin Whidden. She is survived by her children; Page McCutcheon (Michael), Holly Whiddon, Gail Henderson and Bret Whidden (Dena), her 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She enjoyed trips to Fort Myers Beach, spending time with family and friends, traveling with her friends. One of her favorite trips was to the Alamo. Her very favorite times were spent with her family, surrounded by her grandchildren.
Services were Monday at 10:00 a.m. Graveside was at the Ortona Cemetery. Family and friends gathered at the The Ahern’s Camp on Wayman Road for lunch immediately following. Funeral arrangements are by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - Clewiston.
