OKEECHOBEE – An update on Bass Pro’s plans to develop the Okee-Tantie Recreation Area as a world class fishing resort is on the agenda for the Thursday, April 13 meeting of the Okeechobee County Board of Commissioners.

According to the agenda, at 10 a.m., commissioners will receive a status update on the Big Cedar LLC option to purchase Okee-Tantie. Director of Real Estate Acquisitions for Bass Pro Bill Heitz will make the presentation.

The meeting will be held in the Historic Okeechobee County Courthouse, 304 N.W. Second Street.

Other items on the agenda include:

  • Okeechobee County Tax Collector’s Office has requested additional security, due to the high volume of customers who visit the office.
