BELLE GLADE — Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s Social Justice Initiative focuses heavily on voting and community advocacy. One of the initiatives goals is to empower communities to utilize their most powerful tool during local, state and national elections. On Feb, 21, 2023, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s Mu Rho Omega Chapter partnered with Guardians of the Glades and the Urban League of Palm Beach County to host a Candidate Forum for candidates seeking seats A and B in the upcoming elections for the City of Belle Glade.

The event was held at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center. The Candidate Forum provided an opportunity for voters to hear from candidates seeking to represent the citizens of Belle Glade.

The Mu Rho Omega Chapter would like to extend a special thanks to the event attendees, the Guardians of the Glades, the Urban League of Palm Beach County, the Social Justice Initiative Chairman, Tamika Payne and Co-Chairman Alysia Boldin.
