Center Mass holding toy drive for Christmas

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Fresh off their food drive before Thanksgiving, Center Mass Gun Range is holding another food drive in December as well as a toy drive.

Last month, Center Mass owners Bob Kreitz and Margaret Kreitz raffled off two guns in attempt to gather food for local food bank Our Village Okeechobee. For every non-perishable food product brought in, customers received an entry in a raffle for a choice between two guns.

That raffle brought in over 4,400 food items for Our Village Okeechobee.

‘Had to do it again’
“It was so successful that we had to do it again,” said Bob Kreitz. It’s going to help so many families.”

Now the Center Mass will expand to holding two drives, one for toys and another for food. The food drive will work the same as last time, with each non-perishable, non-expired food product brought in netting customers one entry into the raffle.

For the toy drive, the gun range will issue one ticket for each $5 spent on toys. For example, if you bring in $20 worth of toys, you’d receive four entries into the raffle.

The raffle calls for people to bring in bring new, unwrapped toys along with the purchase receipt. Once again, all toys will be donated to Our Village Okeechobee on behalf of all of the Center Mass customers.

This year’s choice
Last time winners were able to choose between Glock 48 or a Dickinson CK212T 12-gauge semi-auto shotgun. Up for grabs in this raffle are an HDM AR12 shotgun or a S&W MP15-22 Muddy Girl 22LR rifle.

All entries will be put together in a tumbler to be drawn on Dec. 17. The winner of the gun must be 21 years or older and be legally allowed to have the gun transferred to them. In the event that the person drawn is not of legal age or is unable to pass the FDLE background check, the ticket will be void and another ticket will be drawn.

The gun will not be shipped to the winner; they’ll have to swing by the store in person to pick it up.
