Children enjoy build a bear event

LABELLE  -- The holidays brought some magical moments for local children.

During the Christmas parade the “Polar Express float” handed out golden tickets to a Christmas build your own bear event.  '

The day was enjoyed by over 45 children, visiting with Santa, Mrs. Claus and Elf Mary. They danced took photos ate cookies.

The highlight was turning their gold ticket in to choose an animal to stuff, add love, courage, friendship, kindness, guardian angel into the heart of their choice.  

They then named their creation complete with a birth certificate and a drawstring bag to proudly carry their project home.  

The event was sponsored by South West Florida PODS Angels Family Support Group, Adult Training Facility at 140 Jaycee-Lions Dr., LaBelle Florida.

AKtion Club did the hands-on work to prepare and execute the event which is sponsored by the LaBelle Kiwanis club of LaBelle.  It was a true community collaboration with smiles from the young and young at heart.  

by South West Florida PODS Angels Family Support Group has  Meaningful Day Activity support for adults with developmental disabilities to continue building the academic and relevant life skills needed to be as independent as possible, and is open Monday-Friday 9: a.m. to 3 p.m.  

One of the microenterprises from this organization is JP’s Hot Dog Cart where funds from local sales contributed to the purchase of supplies for this event.
