Clewiston boat lock open

CLEWISTON  -- The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) announced Feb. 17 tha tthe S-310 boat lock near Clewiston has reopened to the public. Hours of lock access are limited when the lake level is higher than 15.5 feet above sea level. On  Feb. 17, the lake was at  15.45 feet.

The boat lock is now open 24 hours a day.

Since Oct. 1, 2020, the boat lock access had been limited to 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

SFWMD maintains several boat locks on the north shore of the lake as well as S-310 on the south shore of the lake. Visit SFWMD.gov/Navigation to get the latest information on navigation through SFWMD structures and waterways. Anglers and boaters may also access local waterways from several access points through public boat ramps. Visit FWC’s Boat Ramp Finder to find one near you.
