Cold weather shelter to open

OKEECHOBEE -- Okeechobee County in partnership with the Okeechobee Chapter of the American Red Cross announce cold weather shelter/warming center opening for Saturday, Jan. 29 and Sunday Jan. 30, 2022.
 
In anticipation of the upcoming freezing temperatures this weekend, Okeechobee County in partnership with the Okeechobee Chapter of the American Red Cross will open a cold weather shelter/warming center at 6 p.m. both nights.
 
If no clients are received by 10 p.m. each night, the shelter will close for the night.
 
The shelter will be located at the Douglas Brown Community Center, 826 Northeast 16th Avenue, Okeechobee FL 34972.
