TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Department of Health issued an update on the progress of the state’s vaccination efforts. The State of Florida is in its 24th week of vaccine distribution.

As the state transitions out of emergency operations into a locally-led public health effort, this will be the last state Joint Information Center vaccination weekly press release. Beginning Friday, June 4, COVID-19 case and vaccine reporting will remain available weekly at floridahealthcovid19.gov.

As of May 28, at 7 a.m., 10,169,597 individuals have been vaccinated for COVID-19 in Florida; 3,824,580 million are seniors ages 65 and older.

As the State of Florida surpasses more than 10.1 million Floridians vaccinated, COVID-19 vaccinations are being transitioned to a locally-led effort through primary care providers, retail and pharmacy locations, county health departments under the Florida Department of Health and local governments.

All state-supported vaccination sites will transition to the local level by Friday, June 18. First doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine will continue to be available through June 18. Individuals will receive their second doses either at the nearest county health department or through another local provider. Additionally, all state-supported vaccination sites now offer the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

State-supported mobile vaccination events will continue through Friday, June 25. The mobile vaccination schedule is posted daily at FloridaDisaster.org/Vaccine.

As part of this transition, the State Emergency Operations Center will move to a Level 2. The State Emergency Operations Center has been activated at a Level 1 for more than 445 days in response to COVID-19.
