OKEECHOBEE — Okeechobee’s Dixie Youth Little League O-Zone Team battled for the title of District Champions this past weekend in Avon Park. The team kicked off their three-game shut out on Friday, June 11 against Lake Placid with a 17-0 finish. Day two of the three game tournament resulted in a 10-4 victory against the Avon Park Red Devils securing their spot in the Championship Game held on June 13.
With a home run hit during the Team’s first bat of the final game, these Okeechobee boys solidified their spot at the State Tournament with another dominating win against Avon Park with a final score of 13-0.
The Dixie Youth State Championship Tournament will be held the weekend of July 9 in Sebring.
