Extension Office offers variety of summer camps

OKEECHOBEE – Looking for fun activities for the kids this summer? The Okeechobee County Extension Office still has some spots open in 4-H summer camps.

• H2O camp includes trips to the Fort Pierce Marina, Indian River Lagoon Pontoon Eco Tour, South Hutchinson Island, Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, Okeechobee Sports Complex, Gatorland and The Rapids Water Park. H2O camps are available June 5-9, June 19-23, June 26-30 and July 17-21.

• Trek Through Florida History camps area available the weeks of June 12-16 and July 24-28. Cost is $150 per week. History Camp will visit Babcock Ranch, EPCOT, Solomon’s Castle, the UDT Navy Sea Museum and the Kennedy Space Center.

• Farm to Plate Agriculture Camp is July 5-6-7.

• Crafts with Friends Camp is July 10-14.

• Shooting Sports and Conservation Camp is July 10-14.

Summer camp registration packets for youth campers are available at the Okeechobee County Extension Office, 458 U.S. Highway 98 N.

The camps are open to Okeechobee County residents. Participants must be at least 8 years old as of Sept. 1, 2022 to attend camps. 4-H membership is not required.

Fees for H2O, History, Craft and Shooting Sports camps are $150 per week. Fee for Agriculture camp is $100.
