Fast Break brings home MVP Award at Okeechobee Business of the Year Awards

Posted

OKEECHOBEE -- Fast Break Bait and Tackle won the MVP Award at the 2020 Okeechobee Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards.

Overall five businesses were honored in five different categories by the chamber, which included Business Development, Leadership, Community, Entrepreneurship, and the MVP Award which was chosen by social media users.

For the MVP category the Okeechobee Chamber of Commerce asked users on their Facebook page to vote for the business they wanted to see take home the award.

Fast Break quickly racked up nearly 150 votes shortly after the contest began.

“My husband and I have worked together at Fast Break for the last couple years,” said Fast Break co-owner Rebecca Marsocci. “He is actually the third generation business owner at Fast Break. They’ve been doing business in Okeechobee for 25-plus years.”

Fast Break’s nomination video was also one of the most shared on Facebook, with over 50 shares from the Chamber of Commerce’s page. The large number of shares and votes for the local store goes to show just how much support they have in Okeechobee.

“All our customers, employees, family, and friends showed up for us and made this possible,” said Rebecca after receiving the award. “I can’t thank them enough for that. Above all else, that means the most to me. For them we’ll continue to be out there, supporting the community and showing our love for Okeechobee.”
