Fast cars, fireworks and fun at inaugural sprint car state championship

CLEWISTON — A night of Florida’s fastest cars, fireworks and fun is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Hendry County Motorsports Park (HCMP). An epic battle of speed and skill, this big race will host some of the best drivers in the country. Fans can expect to see both new and familiar faces out on the track, spinning their wheels.

Top gun sprint cars, Eastbay Street-stocks, Gladiators, V8 warriors and Outlaw 4s and more will all be hitting the clay, with drivers such as Tyler Clem, Billy Bridges, Justin Webster and even the legendary Tim George behind the wheel.

Just before they put the pedal to the metal and kick up the dust on the southernmost dirt track in the United States, fans will also have a chance to meet their favorite drivers and get their autographs on the front straightaway.

“I can’t wait to watch Tim George and the others battle it out! This race is gonna be epic!” said longtime race fanatic Sue Walters. “This pandemic has been horrible for all of us, but these races are a great way for the whole family to get out and have fun while staying safe. Every one of us wears a mask.”

“Tyler Clem is a favorite at the park, and possibly could pull an upset and win the inaugural championship this Saturday,” says track owner Ken Kinney.

Kinney also explained: “For this race, we are also offering an exclusive racing experience. This will be an inexpensive, incredible experience.”

This race also offers the largest winnings for a single race in the track’s history, with winners having a chance at winning their share of the $3,500 purse.

The Hendry County Motorsports Park is located at 9985 U.S. 27 in Clewiston. Gates will open at 4 p.m. for tailgating and a meet-the-drivers autograph session; racing will begin at 7 p.m.
