Flipany to raise funds for COVID-19 relief through Luxurious Silent Auction

WEST PALM BEACH — FLIPANY (Florida Introduces Physical Activity and Nutrition to Youth), is a South Florida nonprofit whose mission is to foster healthy lives through nutrition education, physical activities, and wellness initiatives. The number of children and families in need of their services has surged during COVID-19. Since March, FLIPANY has distributed over 1,000,000 meals at over 70 distribution sites. As unemployment rates continue to hang heavy, parents are torn between feeding their own families and keeping the lights on.

In lieu of COVID-19, FLIPANY had to cancel their much-anticipated annual event, Chefs Up Front. The event typically takes place in three locations (Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties) and offers a unique dining experience. Guests watch in amazement as South Florida’s finest chefs craft exquisite meals tableside. This year, FLIPANY has decided to hold a Virtual Silent Auction in its place. The funds donated to this year’s virtual silent auction will benefit FLIPANY’s COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund.

The auction began Oct. 1 and closes Oct. 30 at 11:55 p.m. Silent Auction items include travel opportunities to Italy, Greece, Ireland and others, signed sports memorabilia from stars like Kobe Bryant, theme park packages, rare collectable art and golf packages. Participants can register by heading to https://CUF.cbo.io.

“COVID-19 continues to deeply impact the South Florida area. Our hungriest communities are suffering and we intend to continue our COVID-19 relief efforts for as long as necessary. The Chefs Up Front Silent Auction allows us to generate necessary funds that will remain local,” said Lynne Kunins, CEO. “Although Florida continues to reopen, this community remains vulnerable and in need at this time. We are happy to help in any way we can.”

The auction is open to everyone and registrants are encouraged to check back for new items throughout the month of October. All donations and bids will be tax-deductible. For more information on the Chefs Up Front Silent Auction event, please visit https://flipany.org/cuf-2020.
