LABELLE- K & M Drugs will be starting to give flu shots Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021. They will offer both regular and high dose, for 65 and older.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, A few things are different for the 2021-2022 influenza (flu) season, including:

• The compos of flu vaccines has been updated.
• All flu vaccines will be quadrivalent (four component), meaning designed to protect against four different flu viruses.
• Licensure on one flu vaccine has changed. Flucelvax Quadrivalent is now approved for people 2 years and older.
• Flu vaccines and COVID-19 vaccines can be given at the same time.
• More detailed guidance about the recommended timing of flu vaccination for some groups of people is forthcoming.
• Guidance concerning contraindications and precautions for the use of two flu vaccines – Flucevax Quadrivalent and Flublok Quadrivalent – were updated.

Annual flu vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months and older, with few exceptions. Visit the CDC website for details. (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/whoshouldvax.htm)

K&M Drugs will also continue to provide COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Pfizer is now available.

Rapid COVID testing by walk-ins are welcome for $50. However, they are unable to run the cost of the rapid tests through insurance.
