Posted

MOORE HAVEN — The Glades County Health Department in Moore Haven will accept walk-ins and those with an appointment for COVID-19 vaccinations on Sunday, March 14, starting at 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. (Moderna vaccine) at the  Glades County Training Center 1030 Industrial Drive, Moore Haven.

Please note:

  • Do not bring pets (only service animals are allowed inside Health Dept)
  • You will be required to fill out local health department paperwork on site.
  • You will be notified about your second dose before exiting.

The Health Department still must follow the current Executive Order which expanded COVID-19 vaccination in Florida to include the following: all providers administering any COVID-19 vaccine shall only vaccinate the following populations: (With Proper ID)

  • Long-term care facility residents and staff;
  • Persons 65 years of age and older;
  • Health care personnel with direct patient contact;
  • K-12 school employees 50 years of age and older;
    Sworn law enforcement officers 50 years of age and older; and
    Firefighters 50 years of age and older.

NOTE: The Health Department is unable to vaccinate the vulnerable individuals under the age of 65 with prescriptions/certified letters due to the specific requirements within the extended Executive Order which stipulates Physicians, APRN, and Pharmacists as vaccinators. It is seeking to partner with its community providers to fill this specialized need. Please contact your physician, healthcare provider, pharmacy or hospital for additional vaccine assistance.

The Health Department will also follow the State Surgeon General’s Public Health Advisory, which requires every vaccine recipient to be a resident of Florida or is a frontline healthcare worker providing services in Florida.

Florida Residency Requirements:
