Good Samaritans pitch in for local man to have a car

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — During his daily travels BMJ employee Cody Yates often noticed a young man walking during the day, at night and even in the rain.

Yates finally met the young man working at McDonald’s and found out his name was Keith. Yates asked Keith if he had a car; and Keith’s reply was he could not afford one. Yates noticed Keith’s great attitude, respectful and that he was a hard worker.

When Yates left McDonald’s he decided Keith needed a chance to have a car and spoke to his boss, who agreed to help.

It took some time to get the car ready and to get everything in place to give him his very own car. BMJ Towing owner David Williams, along with the Office Manager Sheryl Tanner, Ivor at Hi-Tek Automotive, Guaranteed Auto and Yates all pitched in and made it happen to provide Keith with his own transportation to and from work.

Yates stated that it did their hearts good to put a big smile on Keith’s face. He is very deserving of this vehicle, Yates added.
