Posted

CLEWISTON — The Green Thumb Garden Club nominated the Common Grounds Coffee Shop for the Landscape Design Award, for a small business to the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc., District X on March 18, 2021.

A group of judges or evaluators from the District X Garden Club came to Clewiston to evaluate the property in front of Common Grounds Coffee Shop located at 104 Bond St. The area in front of the coffee shop is beautiful. There is a yellow Tabebuia tree in the center with Gold Mound under the tree. There are beautiful red flowered plants which are Dwarf Ixoras, that are close to a red birdhouse. There is also a birdbath. There’s a patio table with chairs so people can enjoy watching the birds and scenery. The patterns, color, contrast, and design met the criteria of the Landscape Design.

Common Grounds Coffee Shop was announced as the winner of the award for Landscape Design of a small business at the District X Spring Meeting by zoom on Thursday, April 22, 2021. On Monday, April 26, 2021, President of the Clewiston Green Thumb Garden Club, Margo Fatzinger, presented the owner of Common Grounds Coffee Shop, Lori Williams, with the award. There were seven other members of the GTGC present to witness the presentation of the award.

Common Grounds Coffee Shop will be featured in a Garden Magazine from the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. District X.

All members of the GTGC enjoy eating at the Common Grounds Coffee Shop and appreciate the Landscape Scenery. The GTGC thought the recipient of the award is very deserving!
