OKEECHOBEE — Pam Duenas is the community liaison for the Healthy Start Coalition in Okeechobee. Duenas recently spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee about what Healthy Start provides for mothers in their first trimester. Healthy Start Coalition is risk based and not income based. The main goal of Healthy Start Coalition is to provide or direct mothers to prenatal care. Some of the services that Healthy Start offers is car seat inspection, breast feeding support and support for pregnant women to stop smoking.
