Hendry County Road Watch for the week beginning Sept. 26

HENDRY COUNTY — The following column is the Road Watch report for Hendry County for the week beginning Sunday, Sept. 26, provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.

• SR 80 from Hendry Isles Boulevard to Everhigh Road (Maintenance project): Crews will be repairing washouts near the roadway from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution as crews work near and on the roadway.

• SR 29 from County Road 78 to North Bridge Street (Maintenance permit project): Motorists should expect intermittent northbound and southbound lane closures during daytime hours while crews install a deceleration lane, weather permitting. Motorists should expect slow moving traffic and possible delays.

• SR 80 at Witt Road (Maintenance permit project): Motorists should expect intermittent westbound lane closures during daytime hours while crews construct a driveway entrance, weather permitting. Motorists should expect slow moving traffic and possible delays.
