HENDRY COUNTY — The following column is the Road Watch report for Hendry County for the week beginning Sunday, Feb. 28, provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.
• US 27 from Flaghole Road to Clewiston city limits (Maintenance Project): Crews will be landscaping near the roadway from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution as crews work near and on the roadway.
• SR 80 from Hendry Isles Boulevard to Everhigh Road (Maintenance Project): Crews will be repairing washouts near the roadway from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution as crews work near and on the roadway.
• SR 29 at the LaBelle Draw Bridge over the Caloosahatchee River (Maintenance contract project): Motorists should expect intermittent northbound and southbound lane closures during nighttime/overnight hours from 9 p.m. Thursday, March 4 to 4 a.m. Friday, March 5 while crews perform maintenance on the bridge, weather permitting. Flaggers will maintain both directions of traffic. Motorist should use caution as crews work in the roadway.
