Hendry County Waste Management Amnesty Week is Dec. 13-18

Hendry County Waste Management in conjunction with the City of LaBelle and the City of Clewiston will host a weeklong amesty for Hendry County residents, Dec. 13-18.

Residents will be asked to provide a driver's license to prove they reside in Hendry County.

No commercial waste will be accepted.

Households are limited to two loads or 2 tons.

Waste can be dropped off at the Clewiston Transfer Station, 1350 Olympia Ave., Monday-Friday, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. or Saturday between 7 a.m. and noon.

Waste can be dropped off at the LaBelle Transfer Station, 1280 Forestry Division Road, Monday-Friday, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. or Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon.

Accepted waste includes:

• Yard waste: No single branch or limb larger than 4 feet long and no wider than 4 inches in diameter.

• Construction debris: Lumber, shingles, drywall, glass, tiles, wire, etc.

• White goods: Washers, stoves, water heaters, etc.

• Furniture: Sofas, mattresses, chairs, etc.

• Tires: Tires without rims, limited to four tires per household.
