LABELLE -- On Monday, March 14, Hendry-Glades Audubon will present “Beach-nesting Birds of SW Florida” by Audubon’s Rochelle Streker at 7 p.m. at the Dallas Townsend Agricultural Extension Office, 1085 Pratt Blvd. LaBelle or via Zoom.
Rochelle Streker is the Southwest Shorebird Manager for Audubon Florida. She earned a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from the University of Vermont and a MS in Wildlife Biology from Clemson University, where she studied the reproductive survival of Brown Pelicans in the Gulf of Mexico. She has been studying and managing bird species across the U.S. for approximately six years, from Alaska to Alabama to Maine to this position in Southwest Florida, which was started last February. Rochelle also enjoys birdwatching in her spare time and is currently enjoying learning the bird species that live around her new home and trying to expand her knowledge to being able to identify birds by their calls.
The registration link to the zoom meeting is available on the Hendry-Glades Audubon Facebook page or you may request link by contacting stephenbuczynski@gmail.com or Margaret England 863-517-0202 or hgaudubon@gmail.com
