CLEWISTON — The Hendry County Bassmasters Fishing Club fished in the Bass Nation Pro State Championship - High School Open as co-anglers on Lake Okeechobee on Oct. 23 and 24. They competed against other high school anglers from other areas. They had the chance to win scholarship awards.
On day one Harley Collins had a weight of 13.11 pounds taking first place for the day, also a big fish weighing 5.15 lbs for the high school division. On day two Tucker Handley had a weight of 14.29 pounds taking first place for the High school division. Congratulation to them both.
Overall for the weekend Harley Collins held on to first place for the tournament with a total weight of 19.32 pounds. Tucker Handley won biggest bag of the weekend with a weight of 14.29 pounds.
Results for all anglers who fished are as follows:
• Harley Collins - 19.32 pounds;
Anglers from the Hendry County Bassmasters Junior High School will compete with their regular partners in Bainbridge, GA on Nov. 6 and 7.
