How to Baby Bottle Boomerang

Posted

OKEECHOBEE – Baby Bottle Boomerang is a simple program, and a great way for kids and people of all ages to get involved in the life-saving ministry of the Pregnancy Center of Okeechobee.

Three options to choose from:
Hands-On: Distribute your bottles. Collect your filled bottles six weeks later. Drop your bottles back off to the center, that’s the boomerang. Bottles are to be distributed on Sunday, Jan.. 17 or as soon after as possible and collected on Sun. Feb. 28. Sometimes bottles will come in after this date. Bring them on in. Late bottles count too.
Online: Visit the Pregnancy Center’s Giving Page at www.givebutter.com/PCO_BBB; or Text PCOBBB to 202-858-1233.

Hybrid: Invite everyone in your group to join your “Fill A Bottle For Life” BBB campaign - those who attend in person as well as your livestream participants. Offer both the hands on and virtual BBB options at the same time for a meaningful, life-affirming project that goes beyond physical locations and appeals to people of all ages. Team fundraising is a great option for those with a competitive spirit. It’s easy! Visit the giving page and click “Create A Team” to get started.

Each bottle holds approximately $20 worth of change, and to save one baby at the pregnancy center, it costs $225 for ONE visit. That's 11 bottles. The pregnancy center sees a client multiple times throughout her pregnancy for free ultrasounds, nutrition classes, parenting classes,  and supplies for her baby. Last year, in 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, the pregnancy center performed 891 client visits. "Do the math and you will see what it takes to save a baby in this crazy world," said Robyn Garner, executive director.

All bottles have been cleaned and disinfected.
