IHS Beta Club attends Chamber Breakfast

Posted

On March 04, The Immokalee High School (IHS) Beta Club attended the Immokalee Chamber of Commerce Breakfast meeting.

The Beta Club received a beautiful proclamation done by the Board of County Commissioner presented by Debrah Forester from the CRA.

The Beta Club gave the breakfast attendees just a little taste of what they are taking to the State Convention.

The Beta Club have been the leaders in serving the Immokalee community for several decades. In this time the Beta Club has built a tremendous legacy, which all current members of this club are proud to be a part of.

This past convention has only strengthened the legacy. At this year’s state convention, the club acquired 15 awards. These trophies included, but not limited to, first place finishers in campaign skit, character skit, performing arts, portfolio, apparel design, and service-learning showcase. not only that, but a member in the club, Dieulerne Deceus, was elected as the Florida State Vice President.

Most important, the Florida Beta Club offered college scholarships to four active Beta Club members every year, and out of four we had two who received scholarships to help with their college expenses. Four other members were also chosen as Premier Performers for the opening session of the National Convention.

The National Convention will take place in Fort Worth , Texas this year. Unfortunately, it will cost around $36,000 to take at least 60 active members.

The Beta Club of Immokalee would appreciated your help in any form including, but not limited to, supplies, space and money. There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.

The IHS Beta Club gives their thanks in advance for your support. They truly appreciate all that the community has done, are doing or will do.!

Please contact: Ms linda Ayer@ 239-671-1929 or liayer@comcast.net for more information.

The IHS Beta Club has made our community proud all over the USA.
