In the Courts
The following felony cases have either been tried in a court of law or have been settled without trial and are considered closed.

• Hector Correa was sentenced to five months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of cocaine. Correa was arrested in February 2020 during a traffic stop for a non-functioning tag light. The stop was conducted by a member of the narcotics task force.
• Kira Krantz was sentenced to seven months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Krantz was arrested in December 2020 when she was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle at a gas station.
• David Phillips was sentenced to one year in county jail after pleading no contest to felony battery with prior convictions. Phillips was arrested in June 2020 after he hit a woman in the face and threw her around the room. During his interview, he told deputies he did not hit her. Instead, he claimed her face hit him.
• Joseph Haywood was sentenced to three years in state prison after pleading no contest to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was dropped. Haywood was arrested in March 2020 after threatening to shoot his girlfriend with a rifle.

• Michael Olds was sentenced to 10 days in county jail followed by one year probation after pleading no contest to DUI. Charges of possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis resin and possession of drug paraphernalia were dropped. Olds was arrested in April 2019 after a call from an assistant state attorney was made to an Okeechobee County Sheriff’s deputy. The ASA told him she was on State Road 710 behind a gray Porsche SUV which was driving erratically.
• Dawn Inman was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to burglary of a structure and petit theft. Inman was arrested in November 2019 after video surveillance showed her stealing tools from a Conex trailer parked outside Morgan’s Furniture.
• Jon Mesa was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to felony criminal mischief. A charge of aggravated stalking was dropped. Mesa was arrested in July 2020 after he went to the store where his ex-girlfriend worked, drove around back where she parked her car and then got out of his vehicle and climbed on the roof of hers, jumping up and down. In addition, he smashed her windows before getting back in his vehicle and driving away.
• Chad Nesselhauf was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to dealing in stolen property and giving false information to a pawn broker. Nesselhauf was arrested in July 2020 after stealing some tools from his employer and pawning them. A charge of petit theft was dropped.
• Oscar Russ was sentenced to four months in county jail after pleading no contest to high speed or wanton fleeing and carrying a concealed firearm without a permit. Russ was arrested in November 2020 following a high speed chase which ended in a water-filled ditch.
• Tyler Willis was sentenced to 11 months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence. Willis was arrested in December 2019 after he was stopped by an Okeechobee County Sheriff’s deputy while riding a bike in Treasure Island. Because it was after 11 p.m. and the bike had no lights, the deputy stopped Willis and reported Willis seemed very shaky and nervous. When he was asked to empty his pockets, Willis threw an Advil bottle into a canal. The bottle was later found to contain methamphetamine.
• Robert Darigo was sentenced to one year and 15 days in state prison after pleading no contest to grand theft auto. Darigo was arrested in July 2018 after stealing a friend’s Ford Thunderbird.
• Drug charges against Steven Mills were dropped. Mills was arrested in April 2021 during a narcotics task force operation involving a confidential informant.
• Hayleigh Price was sentenced to two years, two months and two days in state prison after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer without violence. Price was arrested in September 2020 during a traffic stop.
• Joshua Valdez was sentenced to county jail for 10 months followed by two years probation after pleading no contest to two charges possession of a controlled substance and one count possession of drug paraphernalia. The jail time was suspended. Valdez was arrested in June 2020 after a reckless driver complaint.
• Bryan Adams was sentenced to two months in county jail after pleading no contest to battery on a law enforcement officer, corruption by threat, resisting arrest without violence and operating a vehicle without a license.
