The Letter to the Hebrews is an amazing, masterful document with no known author and one primary focus: Jesus is all we need! He is sufficient and superior to everything else. Still, there are those who think of worship as boring or unnecessary. How sad! God, Himself gave specific instructions regarding worship and sacrifice…first to the wandering Israelites in the desert and, hundreds of years later, when they were settled in their new land. No matter the troubles in the believer’s lives, prayerful worship was and will always be the answer.

Every Sunday, we sing a simple piece of music entitled “As we come into His Presence.” That’s where the stage is set for worship, simply resting in the presence of God. The prayerful lyrics take us to a holy place…perhaps the sight of the burning bush, the Holy of Holies in the desert, the Ark of the Covenant, thousands bowing down in adoration at the simple mention of the name of Jesus, the glory of God that is present on every altar that bears His Name. Do you see it? Visualize those pictures in your mind. How blessed we are to worship and pray with other Christians on Sunday morning! How blessed we are to be loved that much by a God who doesn’t need us…but wants us to worship in His Holy Presence!

Some things in life may be boring but worshiping the God who created you is meant to bring you great joy and fulfillment.
