Juneteenth is near

CLEWISTON- The oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, Juneteenth, is almost here. From vendors and kickball to the parade and even a scholarship, there will be no shortage of things to do during this second annual celebration in the City of Clewiston on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

“I hope everyone in our community can come together to make this and all future Juneteenth celebrations a commemorative event,” said Carolyn Jones, a long time resident of Clewiston’s Harlem community. “And not to commemorate the horribleness that our country has embraced, but rather as of the strength in the American spirit to recognize wrong and set about making it right.”

Everyone is invited to attend and participate in Clewiston’s Juneteenth Celebration, a family friendly event.
